Book 117: Struck

Struck by Amanda Carlson is the first book in the Phoebe Meadows series.  Steeped in Norse mythology this is an action packed tale of survival.  Phone Meadows believes herself an ordinary human working in the shoe department at Macy's until she gets struck by lightning in the storage room.  Arriving home, her neighbor Ingrid comes over dressed in full Valkerie gear explaining that she is Phoebe's aunt, Odin is Phoebe's father, and the Norns are coming to kill her.  Kidnapped away from her aunt, Phoebe escapes the Norns and finds herself in the cave of Fenrir where she gains a powerful albeit unlikely ally in the isolated demigod.  Together they plot to escape back to Midgard and find Phoebe's aunt.  4 stars.
